Parents as Teachers
A free early learning program for families in USD 336
Parents as Teachers is a completely free program available to families who live within the Holton school district. It is designed to support parents as their child’s first and most important teacher.
This is a home-based program, serving families from prenatal through preschool.
How the Program Works
A trained parent educator visits your home once a month to:
Support you in helping your child learn and grow
Share practical strategies tailored to your child’s age and development
Provide fun, hands-on activities you can use right away
Each visit is focused on your child’s unique strengths and needs, in a comfortable, familiar setting.
Screenings, Support, and Growth
As part of the program, we:
Conduct regular developmental screenings and assessments
Identify areas where a child may need extra support
Focus intentionally on building skills in those areas over time
The goal is early support, strong foundations, and confidence for both children and parents.
Community Connections
In addition to home visits, families may have opportunities to:
Participate in group activities with other local families
Build connections within the Holton community
Learn alongside parents facing similar stages and challenges
Participation in group activities is optional and designed to be welcoming and low-pressure.
Who Can Participate?
Families living in the Holton School District

There is no cost to participate.
