Topic: The Me I Want To Be

Leader: Deb Snyder
Time: 9:15 am - Begins Aug. 1
Designed for use with The Me I Want to Be DVD, this participant’s guide will show how God's perfect vision for you starts with a powerful promise. All those who trust in God "will be like a tree planted by the water that sends out its roots by the stream. It does not fear when heat comes; its leaves are always green. It has no worries in a year of drought and never fails to bear fruit" (Jeremiah 17:7-8).

John Ortberg urges you to recognize your brokenness, understand that God is the project manager, and follow His directions. He also helps gauge your spiritual health and measure the gap between where you are now and where God intends you to be. The Me I Want To Be Participant’s Guide is a guidebook to the great task and joy of your life … becoming God’s best version of you.

Learn to be a thriving and flourishing Christ-follower as you study these five sessions: Discovering The Spirit, Renewing My Mind, Redeeming My Time, Deepening My Relationships, and Transforming My Experience

Monday
Topic: Parenting is Your Highest Calling and 8 Other Myths

Leader: Cindy Teter
Time: 9:00 am - Teter's home - Begins September 13
In the search of the ideal blueprint for raising their children, many Christians have seized hold of mistaken notions about parenting. They believe, for example, that having children should bring happiness, that happy children are a sign of good parenting, and that following the right set of parenting principles guarantees their children will become godly adults. But a closer look at what the Bible says about parenting exposes these beliefs as guilt-inducing myths and replaces them with the fresh hope of truth. The entire Old Testament is a narrative of God's own fathering of the nation Israel, whom he calls "my first-born son." Other stories of families in the Old Testament and Jesus's redefinition of family in the New Testament also reveal startling truths about parenting that move the focus from imperfect human efforts to God's holy purposes.
