Coffee with the Pastor

If you are considering membership at Evangel, the first step is to attend “Coffee with the Pastor” where you will learn more about the church, get to know our staff and review expectations regarding membership.

Attending a “Coffee with the Pastor” session is one of the requirements for membership at Evangel. The session will be relaxed and informative as you learn more about our church and membership expectations.

“Coffee with the Pastor” sessions occur approximately four times a year. A typical session usually lasts about an hour. Childcare is available.

Expectations for Every Member of Evangel

1. Have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ and be ready and willing to share your faith with others.

2. Be intentional about your personal growth. Participate each week in a worship experience.

3. Be intentional about where you are known and nurtured. Become a member of a Sunday school class or a small group.

4. Be intentional about where you serve. Involve yourself on a regular basis in at least one ministry where you touch the lives of others.

5. Pray regularly for your church: the people, the staff and the pastor.

6. Be a tither --- or a percentage giver making progress toward tithing.

Baptism at Evangel

Holy Baptism is a Covenant between an individual and God. It is God’s word to us, proclaiming our adoption by grace and our word to God, promising our response of faith and love.

Evangel welcomes your inquiry about the Sacrament of Baptism and we look forward to assisting your family with planning this special day. It is our desire to make your baptism a most memorable occasion.

Persons of all ages can be baptized at Evangel. Non-members are encouraged to seek membership at Evangel as soon as possible after being baptized. The United Methodist Church recognizes baptisms from other faiths and churches and therefore does not “re-baptize”.
