No Show-and–Tell this month!

Fall Weather

Fall is fast approaching and so is cooler weather. Please
dress your child appropriately because it is windy on our
playground. We will go outside unless it is below freezing
or bad weather. If your child needs to stay inside, please
send a note. However, if one child stays in,
we all do since we must have 2 adults on
the playground. Please make sure your
child’s jacket has his/her name on it.

Themes this Month

This month’s themes include Fire Safety, Halloween, and
writing names in the pre-kindergarten classes. We
practice writing the first letter capital and all others in
lowercase. (Example: Becky) Please help us by practicing
this way at home.

Picture Days

Pictures will be taken on Oct. 8th and 9th. A separate letter
with picture information and an order form will be sent
home with your child. Picture money MUST be turned in by
picture day. All students will have their picture taken but
purchasing is optional.

Fire Safety Month

October is National Fire Safety Month. We will be
discussing fire safety throughout October. The Holton
Volunteer Fire Department will bring the fire engine to
Lollipop on the 15th and 16th to help us celebrate.

Parent Teacher Conferences

There will be no school on Monday Oct 27th and Tuesday
October 28th due to parent teacher conferences. I will be
offering conferences from 8:30 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. on
Monday and 8:30 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
Conferences are optional, but they are a good
communication tool and provide parents and teacher an
opportunity to discuss any concern or affirmation they
may have. Please return your slip by Thursday, October 9th,
if you want to schedule a conference.

We will have school when U.S.D. #336 has in-service days
unless it is printed in the newsletter that we won’t. Keep
your monthly newsletter/calendar on the refrigerator.
