Beck-Bookman LibraryComputer & Internet Use PolicyThe Internet is a global electronic network that provides access to ideas, information and commentary. The Beck-Bookman Library provides public access to the Internet in keeping with its mission to provide recreational, cultural, educational and reference information materials and services. Users must comply with the United States copyright law, United States and Kansas statutes, and all other applicable laws. The library is concerned for the safety and security of users who access online information. The library has no control over the information on the Internet and cannot be held responsible for its content. The restriction of a minor’s access to the Internet is the responsibility of the parent or legal guardian. Parental permission is required for use of the library Internet computers by children under the age of eighteen. For children age 12 and under, a parent must be in the library with the child at the time of Internet use. Permission forms may be obtained at the circulation desk and need to be completed in the Library before using the Internet. Proof of identification/date of birth must be provided if questioned by staff. Using library computer workstations in an inappropriate manner or for illegal purposes is prohibited.
