Welcome, and thank you again for visiting
the Parent Information and Resource Center web page. My name is
Tim Holt and I will be working in the Holton area with you, and
the Holton School District.
I was born in Topeka, Kansas in 1965 and lived there until I was
five years of age. My family then moved to northern Colorado where
I was raised in a small town called LaPorte. I went to school
in that area and eventually attended the University of Northern
Colorado, in Greeley. I graduated with a degree in education in
1993 and was offered a job teaching secondary students in Cheyenne,
Wyoming just across the Colorado border. I taught various subjects
in social studies for five years, and was eventually elected to
teach and facilitate the 7th- 9th grade Gifted and Talented program.
I also mentored many programs having taken various classes in
Conflict Resolution, and Drug and Alcohol awareness and prevention.
I also coached several sports and helped sponsor an after school
Kiwanis community service club. During this time, I also started
and maintained a Saturday School Program for troubled students.
During the summers I enjoyed working as a security officer and
did a short exciting stint working security for the Denver Broncos.
I then moved back to Topeka and settled in Holton, Kansas. I live
here currently with my wife and two kids. I have worked in several
capacities for the school district, including substitute teaching
throughout the district, and most recently tutoring at Holton
Middle School. Finally, I also manage the City of Holton’s
Municipal Pool and teach both swimming lessons to Jackson County
students and residents in the summers, as well as Lifeguard Training
and CPR/ First Aid.
I look forward to meeting you and hope this visit to our web site
and my biography has been both informative and beneficial. |
