The museum at 327 New York Avenue was opened in 1984. The artifacts on display all relate to people or history from Jackson County. Examples: bottles manufactured here in Holton, Kansas; a unique collection of W.P.A. dolls; beautiful hand carved wooden canes; silk spun from silkworms raised in our county; millinery pieces with photographs of the items when they were in the store; oxen yokes; items used on the farm; articles from the wagon train era; and household displays.
Some wonderful collections have been loaned over the years, so that others may share the enjoyment of seeing the items. Displays are changed periodically.
Our research library covers a wide range of materials. Many family members have been able to find new information about their families in our files. Copy service is available.
The Museum is located at 327 New York Avenue (the southwest corner of Fourth
